About Me

If I had to choose a moment that shaped who I am today, it would be the years I spent teaching children how to paint. Kids never worry about rules — a flower can be rainbow, the sky can be green, and everything in their world is possible. Watching them create with such freedom reminded me that creativity begins with seeing things differently. That small classroom is where my interest in imagination and human behavior quietly began.
As a Chinese international student from Shenyang, I felt an unexpected sense of familiarity when I arrived in Chicago. The cold wind and long winters felt like home, even though everything else was new. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I began building my own small businesses. Creating brands like La Savage and The Essential Lab helped me realize how much I enjoy turning ideas into something people can feel connected to.
I learned that I naturally notice what people need and what makes them feel something. This curiosity eventually led me to DePaul’s PRAD program, where creativity, strategy, and communication finally aligned in a way that felt meaningful and right for me.

What Inspires Me
Outside of school and work, I’m happiest when I’m teaching kids to paint or playing golf. Golf teaches me focus, patience, and trust — sometimes the harder you try, the worse the swing becomes, and when you relax, you end up hitting the perfect shot.
To me, that feels a lot like entrepreneurship: you can plan forever, but nothing begins until you take the first step. My goal is to keep creating work that feels honest, thoughtful, and human — and to stay connected to the “why” behind everything I do.
